VERSATEX Trimboard News

February 2008 - VERSATEX Introduces 16 New Moulding Profiles with Super-Smooth Surfaces

It’s easy to paint, but with such a sleek, satin finish, most contractors won’t want to.

Pittsburgh, Pa.— VERSATEX has developed a new Cellular PVC molding line that takes the promise of low maintenance and high performance to another level with a “ready-to-install” surface. All the pieces of this 16-profile offering are extruded, not cut, for a finish that requires paint only when a custom color is desired.

trimboard newsThe new moulding series has 5 Crown Moulding Profiles, 4 Casing Profiles, 4 Cove Profiles, and 4 Utility Profiles—covering most of the moulding applications for everything from historic preservation to contemporary architecture. And unlike all of the wood mouldings and most of the composite mouldings available, this moulding line carries a 30-year limited warranty—whether it is painted or not. If a custom trim color is desired, VERSATEX mouldings can easily be painted with a good quality latex or acrylic primer and exterior latex paint.

“The technology is rapidly advancing to let us do tight profiles through extrusion, rather than routing,” says John Pace, VERSATEX president. “The resulting improvement in the process gives us a product that is denser and more resistant to compression and indentation than pine and holds a fastener better than pine or styrene.”

“There’s no question the market for PVC mouldings and trims is expanding,” says Rick Kapres, vice president sales and marketing. “Homeowners love the satin surface, trimboard news and contractors appreciate both the labor savings with no painting, plus the fact that VERSATEX just plain outperforms wood and styrene on the job site.”

The VERSATEX moulding system comes in simple to stock and pick cartons, and an easy inventory commitment—as little as 4 profiles to start. Dealers can pick and choose the profiles that sell well in their regions, and special order the rest. A variety of selling tools and marketing materials is available, including contractor key-chain samples, full-color sell sheets, and a custom duffel bag designed to display and protect a complete set of sample pieces.

VERSATEX is manufactured by Wolfpac Technologies in Pittsburg, Pa. The company operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, which produces cellular PVC extrusion products such as Versatex reversible exterior trimboard and prefabricated corners.
