March 8, 2010 - VERSATEX PVC Trim Receives CCRR-0149 Code Approval
This code certification covers all products, and encompasses all major national code bodies--including BOCA National Codes, The Standard Codes and the Uniform Codes.
VERSATEX has received national code compliance CCRR-0149 by Architectural Testing Inc., an independent accredited third party testing agency, becoming the first cellular PVC trim manufacturer to include all products in their code listing. ATI’s CCRR accreditation program is equal to ICC’s satisfying the building code requirements for independent evaluation when deemed necessary. However, unlike ICC, ATI will not accept any legacy standards and looks at only the most up-to-date code standards.
To meet this code, each product was subjected to aggressive testing at ATI’s independent lab. Under the requirements of this code, VERSATEX will be required to undergo random third party testing of all aspects of their products. Even the tools they use for precision measurements will be randomly tested. This program will ensure that VERSATEX continues to meet or exceed the standards the company has adopted, and the industry requires.
“Tight tolerances and exacting standards have been part of our story all along,” says Rick Kapres, VP of Sales and Marketing. “With this code approval—on every one of our products—now, we have further verification. ”
“Even though there is not yet a requirement for PVC trims to be code approved because of their non-structural nature, VERSATEX has taken these steps--to advance our already established reputation for quality, and push ourselves for even higher standards internally,” says John Pace, president and technical spokesperson for VERSATEX Trimboards.
