INSTALLING VERSATEX
Sealants and Adhesives
- PVC Cements: Weld-On #705, Trim Tight by Trim Glue, Christy’s Red Hot White, TeQ Bond or TeQ Mount by OSI.
- Methacylates with UV Inhibitors (2 components) – PVC TrimWelder by Extreme Adhesives.
- NPC Solar Seal 900; Quad by OSI; EPI000 by OSI; Various urethane Sealants.
*Sealant should be polymer based containing solvents. Do Not use silicone.
*Bonding VERSATEX to Itself
- Weld-On 705 PVC adhesive, Trim Tight, Christy’s Red Hot White, or TeQ Bond/TeQ Mount.
- PVC TrimWelder by Extreme Adhesive.
*Bonding VERSATEX to Wood
- Liquid Nails Subfloor or Heavy Duty Construction adhesive.
- Polyurethane based adhesives or NPC Solar Seal. (PL’s or equivalent)
*Bonding VERSATEX to Metal
- PVC TrimWelder by Extreme Adhesive two components methacrylate.
*Bonding VERSATEX to Concrete or Block
- PVC TrimWelder by Extreme Adhesive or NPC Solar Seal 900.
Adhesive/Sealant Tips:
- Some solvent based cements have a very limited working time which may reduce adhesive strength.
- Adhesives alone are not recommended for securing VERSATEX to a substrate.
- Always apply adhesives to one piece of VERSATEX the press boards together to obtain a superior bond.
