Porch Ceiling with Beadboard (Sheets or boards)

When installing VERSATEX 1/2” beadboard or 1/2” thick sheet orient it perpendicular to the joints fastening it every 12” on center or less. Apply construction adhesives to the underside of the rafters before installing VERSATEX 1/2” beadboard or sheet.
Use 1” nominal VERSATEX beadboard when ceiling joists have an on center spacing 16” or greater.
Never span VERSATEX more than 24” .
Before installing VERSATEX beadboard be sure the underside of the ceiling joists are true and level. Consider placing 1/2” or 7/16” sheet of OSB or plywood on the underside of the ceiling joists to reduce or eliminate joist read through when installing 1/2” thick headed profiles.
